Star Platforms Present Aaron Johnson with the Ant Eaton ‘Technical Excellence Award’
Last Updated: 9 January 2026
Service Engineer Aaron Johnson, based at Star Platforms’ Midlands depot, has been named the latest recipient of the Ant Eaton ‘Technical Excellence Award.’ Established in memory of the late Ant Eaton, a valued colleague and friend, this prestigious award celebrates outstanding engineering talent and unwavering dedication within the company.
Ant Eaton was a highly respected figure in the UK powered access industry and a much-loved member of the Star Platforms team. Starting with us as a mobile service engineer, he progressed to become North West Service Manager, earning admiration for his dedication, integrity, and leadership. After his untimely passing in 2023, Star Platforms created the Ant Eaton ‘Technical Excellence Award’ to honour his legacy and recognise exceptional engineering within the company.
Aaron was formally presented with the award this month in recognition of his outstanding technical ability, proactive approach, and dedication to his role.
Speaking on why Aaron was chosen, John Aubin, Technical Director of Star Platforms, said: “Aaron has quickly established himself as an invaluable part of our Midlands depot. His eagerness to learn and his consistent quality of work have been outstanding. Aaron’s self-motivated nature and readiness to support his colleagues, whether in the depot or on-site, make him a true asset to the team. This award reflects his dedication to excellence and embodies the values we celebrate in Ant Eaton’s memory.”
Accepting the award, Aaron said, “Although I never had the chance to know Ant personally, I am well aware of the high regard he held in the business. It is an honour to receive this award and uphold our commitment to excellence in engineering.”
Special recognition also goes to Luke Fitzpatrick, who received a ‘highly commended’ award. John added: “Since joining the Luton depot, Luke has demonstrated great potential, showing dedication and a proactive approach in his role. His efforts have been greatly valued by the team, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.”
Following the awards, Richard Miller, Managing Director of Star Platforms, commented: “We are extremely proud of both Aaron and Luke for their remarkable contributions to the business. Their hard work and dedication embody the values we uphold at Star Platforms, and we look forward to supporting their continued development within the company.”
Aaron follows in the footsteps of Joe Walshall, who received the award last year for his exceptional contributions to the business.
