Meet the Team, Paula Seery – Recruitment and HR Advisor
Last Updated: 9 January 2026
At Star Platforms, we know that great hires build great teams, and that starts with the people who make hiring happen. In this edition of our Meet the Team series, we’re shining a spotlight on the person who helps shape our workforce from the ground up: our Recruitment and HR Advisor.
From attracting top talent to supporting staff across depots and departments, their role is all about people – finding the right fit, fostering growth, and keeping our team culture strong.
We sat down for a quick Q&A to learn more about what drives their work, what they look for in a candidate, and what it’s really like behind the scenes of recruitment at Star Platforms.
Let’s get to know them…
How long have you worked in recruitment?
I began my recruitment career in 2004 and have since gained extensive experience across a wide range of sectors, including Industrial, Engineering, Construction, and Pharmaceutical. My background spans both large corporate recruitment firms in the city and smaller specialist agencies, giving me valuable insight into diverse business environments. Over the years, I have developed the ability to adapt quickly to the needs of each sector and the specific requirements of the businesses I represent.
When did you join Star Platforms?
I officially joined the business in 2021, but I had been recruiting for Star Platforms externally since 2015. During that time, I worked closely with the senior management team to help grow the business to where it stands today in 2025.
What are your main responsibilities at Star Platforms?
Since joining Star, my role has evolved and expanded, which is one of the many reasons I enjoy being part of the company. On a day-to-day basis, I advertise roles on multiple sites, source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, and our company database. I manage the hiring process end-to-end, including liaising between candidates and hiring managers, arranging and conducting interviews, and shortlisting for final-stage interviews.
In addition, I support the HR administration side of the business, including preparing contracts and onboarding materials, conducting right-to-work checks, and managing referencing.
What is the best part of working for Star Platforms?
It may sound like a cliché, but the truth is that working for Star Platforms feels like being part of one big family. Not only do you feel recognised as contributing to the ongoing success of the business, but you also have the opportunity to make a real difference in shaping its future. The management team fosters strong working relationships, which extend across every department. While, like any company, we face challenges, our values are evident in the way we treat one another throughout the organisation.
What advice would you give to someone applying to Star Platforms?
If you want to work for a company that truly values its employees and treats you as an essential member of the team, Star Platforms delivers this in abundance. If collaborating closely with others, regardless of position, is important to you, then Star Platforms stands out as a cut above the rest.

What hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I find joy in nature – whether it’s a long walk or simply taking in the scenery, being outdoors is my happy place. I’m also a social soul who loves spending time with family and friends, hosting gatherings, and sharing good food and wine.
