Meet the team – Tania Simmons, Head of Customer Experience

What are your main responsibilities:

As the ‘Voice of the Customer,’ I oversee the development and implementation of company-wide initiatives that improve customer relations, satisfaction, and brand loyalty. I monitor the customer journey across all functions at Star Platforms and work closely with departmental directors/managers to identify areas of concern and develop strategies to drive improvements. Additionally, I am responsible for managing customer satisfaction survey results and coordinating meetings or calls to address customer needs. I also oversee the IT implementation of new processes and the implementation of standards and processes within our sister company, Star Power.

How many years of experience in the powered access industry:

I have over 30 years of experience in the powered access industry. I began my career on the hire desk and then transitioned into field sales. Over the years, I have worked in various field sales roles for different companies, including national key account manager, managing key portfolios, and implant desks.

When did you join Star Platforms?

I joined Star Platforms in September 2015 as a Business Development Manager. Due to high demand, I was requested to run the sales/hire desk as the Sales Office Manager before taking on my current role as the customer experience and telesales manager.

What are your main challenges?

Some of the challenges I face in my role include managing market expectations, navigating a challenging economy, and remaining competitive in our pricing.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

What I enjoy most is helping customers find the right solutions, ensuring their satisfaction with the quality of service, and continuing to foster positive relationships.

Hobbies:

In my free time, I enjoy going away in my campervan for weekends to explore the UK with my two beautiful dogs. I also enjoy a nice glass of wine, going for walks in the countryside, listening to the birds, and disconnecting to be in tune with nature and myself.
