Star Platforms Invests £4m In New Equipment

Star Platforms toasting the deal with Skyjack at APEX in Amsterdam

Star Platforms has invested more than £4m on 250 additional scissor lifts, boom lifts and low level access platforms; boosting our total fleet size to over 1000.

Included in this investment are some new additions to the hire fleet. Two new models from Skyjack (the SJ4740 electric scissor lift and the SJ30 ARJE articulating boom lift) and the HR28 Hybrid boom lift from NiftyLift.

Richard Miller, Joint Managing Director, said: “Skyjack and NiftyLift have received most of our capital expenditure for 2017. Not only do both companies offer a good commercial deal, but more importantly, they are very easy to do business with. Their products have received excellent user acceptance from our customers and they are the manufacturers of choice within our engineering department due to the ease in dealing with both companies’ after sales support teams.”

Some of the 250 new products have already been received with the remainder of the orders being delivered between now through to August 2017 to ensure stock levels are sufficient to support customer demands.

Richard continues: “We anticipate 2017 being a very busy year and we need to ensure we have a modern fleet and the continued capacity to support our loyal customer base.”
