We are delighted to announce the opening of our fourth depot near Reading, Berkshire.
This expansion has created six new jobs within the company (all of which have been filled) and an investment of over £3,000,000 in new hire equipment (predominantly from preferred suppliers Skyjack, Niftylift and Power Towers).
Joint Managing Director, Richard Miller, spoke of the company’s decision to expand: “Earlier this year, the board decided to look for a new depot within the M3/M4 corridor in the Bracknell/Reading area. Our existing customers already undertake a lot of work within the new depot’s catchment area and we felt there was an opportunity to increase our offering and grow our customer base within this region.
“The chosen facility, headed up by Depot Supervisor Craig Brown, was selected for its large concrete yard, cladded workshop, palisade perimeter fencing and an interceptor tank in the wash bay area.”
Operations Director, Ian Mitchell, commented: “Having achieved ISO14001:2015 earlier this year, all our depots are set up to the highest standard, and this new location will be no different. With the excellent team we have put together to operate this new depot we are confident this new location will be a success for us”.
Sales Director, Bryan Freeman, added: “This exciting development for Star Platforms, along with our ongoing membership of the Access Alliance, gives greater national coverage for our customers whilst retaining the feeling that they are dealing with a local company who really care about their business”.
