Environmental excellence for Star Platforms

Star Platforms is proud to announce it has successfully retained the international ISO 14001:2015 standard for its commitment to environmental management.

The standard has been designed to provide companies with a framework to help minimise their impact on the environment. Following an independent audit of its processes and systems, Star Platforms demonstrated its commitment to the environment, successfully complying with stringent regulations and reducing waste management costs. So impressive were its policies, it completed the audit with ‘zero non-conformities’ and ‘zero opportunities for improvement’.

A key area of reducing its environmental impact last year saw the company invest more than £8 million on the latest, environmentally-friendly access platforms. It has now increased the total number of electric and hybrid-powered machines in its fleet to more than 82 percent, while ensuring all new diesel machines are specified with Stage V compliant, low emission engines. Other areas of improvement included, ensuring its entire company car fleet is now hybrid-powered, delivering monthly environmental awareness toolbox talks, introducing an engineering app to reduce the use of paper and recycling all ink cartridges.

“We are incredibly proud of our staff, who continually go above and beyond to ensure we are a leading access platform provider. The ISO 14001 audit process is both extensive and exhaustive, and for there to be no areas for improvement really is testament of our commitment to achieve the highest working standards. Obtaining the standard is a great accomplishment and one that forms part of our overall goal to ensure we offer the very best service to our customers.”

Del Patterson, QHSE Manager at Star Platforms

Star Platforms has now successfully retained its ISO 14001 certification since 2017. It was also recently awarded IPAF’s Rental+ Gold accreditation for the third consecutive year after demonstrating exceptional standards in quality and safety.
