StarSpotting – Large Skyjack Scissors Tackle Cladding Panels
Last Updated: 21 November 2025
Delighted to see another #StarSpotting picture arrive this week. This one sees a Skyjack 9250 RT at a construction site assisting in the cladding of a new warehouse.
Whilst cladding teams like the Kubota diesel power of these machines and their ability to get across tough ground conditions on the construction site, there’s one thing they are always seeking – space. More platform space for workers and more platform space for materials. These mighty Skyjacks come with large double roll out deck extensions, so they not only provide access up and over obstacles but provide a huge 7.21m x 1.88m of deck length to satisfy the demands of cladding contractors.
Modern cladding sheets used in construction have been increasing in size over recent decades. Manufacturers, such as Kingspan, has forced large scissor manufacturers to develop ever larger platform areas, whilst retaining the capacity for several people, accessories and bulky panels.

These double deck scissors were on hire from our East Midlands depot that serves Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham and the wider area. Star Platforms has powered access hire depots in Luton and Kent, as well as offering nationwide coverage through the Access Alliance.
