Star Platforms provides a push-around Nano access platform to Luton Foodbank

UK powered access rental company Star Platforms has donated a 4.5m Nano access platform to the charity to support their warehouse operation.

Luton Foodbank started in April 2013 and has since helped thousands of people and families in the Luton area. With an aim to eradicate food poverty and support people in Luton, the charity supports people in difficult times. On average they put together and send over 270 parcels per week, containing more than 4000 items.

“We met Luton Foodbank through our sponsorship of Luton Town Football Club as they were their chosen charity for last season. We are happy to support such a great cause by donating a push-around Nano for six months, to include the key winter period. The ultra-compact Nano is ideal as it allows food items to be easily picked from the high-level narrow-aisle shelving.”

Richard Miller, Managing Director, Star Platforms

The Nano push-around lift is a popular choice of low level platform for indoor work in confined spaces. The platform offers a 4.5m working height and 200kg lifting capacity whilst being just 0.75m wide, making it narrow enough for the tightest of spaces. Weighing just 285kg the machine can be easily pushed into position by the operator who then elevates to full height with a simple press of a button using the on-board battery power.

“The platform has been a great asset to the team and we can’t thank Star Platforms enough for the additional help. Due to the narrow restrictions within our warehouse they worked with us to identify the correct machine and the Nano has worked perfectly. We need to use every inch of our warehouse and the team can now reach all areas safely and efficiently.”
