Star Platforms provided a Niftylift HR21D articulated boom lift to fit a new cross at Botley Baptist Church in Oxfordshire

UK powered access rental company, Star Platforms, provided the 20.8m working height articulated boom lift to fit the aluminium cross to the newly built church.

Due to a relocation for the church, the new building is part of a regeneration project and the final task was fitting the impressive new cross above the entrance to the building. Using a crane to move the large sections of the cross into place, the Niftylift HR21D diesel articulated boom lift was the perfect partner to line up the sections and safely attach the cross to the building.

“The cherry picker was a great asset to this job and saved us a lot of time with installation. The HR21D allowed us to reach around the sides of the building and access all the areas we required, whilst the outreach enabled us to boom across and over the pathway to maintain the finish on the new paving. Delivery was prompt, and we’ve found everyone at Star Platforms to be helpful and professional.”

Dick Planner, Site Manager
The Niftylift HR21D diesel 4×4 articulated boom lift provided stability and outreach required to reach the access points from the roadside, protecting the new paving.

The Niftylift HR21D offers a working height of 20.8m and outreach of 13m, which provided the flexibility required for operators to fix the cross into position whilst avoiding any damage to the new paving that had recently been laid. The 160º cage rotation and a 150º fly-boom allowed them to accurately position themselves and move the cross into place, and the 4×4 option added the stability required whilst needing to work with precision on a construction site.

The Niftylift HR21D enabled operators to access the areas required to safely fit the cross to the building.

“After carrying out a site visit to identify the correct machine, we were happy to supply the Niftylift HR21D boom lift. This platform is a great hire option for applications such as this where a generous outreach is required, and the operator needs to navigate around an object with care. Our customer was able to complete the job efficiently and safely and the finished building looks great.”
