Specialist powered access hire company Star Platforms has achieved Bronze status in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
Star Platforms is a leading supplier of self-propelled booms and scissors for hire and sale.
The company gained the accreditation following a successful audit of its vehicle fleet and policies. The FORS accreditation scheme aims to improve fleet activity in London and throughout the UK. Over recent years it has become increasingly important for firms in the construction industry.
Star Platforms’ fleet currently has eight vehicles. The company’s commitment to vehicle and driver safety enabled it to pass FORS first time.
Star Platforms Joint Managing Director Steve Simmons commented: “From the outset, we have worked hard to ensure we apply safe practice across the entire business, including our transport operation. Our fleet is already fitted with the latest technology, such as surround cameras and proximity sensors, and we are now working towards FORS Silver.”
Following recent expansion, Star Platforms now operates from 3 depots in Bedfordshire, Kent and Leicestershire providing coverage across London, the South East, East Anglia and the Midlands. The company offers UK coverage via membership of the Access Alliance.
