Cherry Picker hire for Remembrance Day Commemorations

Star Platforms were happy to supply a cherry picker (self-propelled boom) to help a local company’s Remembrance Day commemorations.

The Midlands branch supplied a Genie Z45 boom to a local mechanical and electrical company who had the job of fixing the large red poppy to the building.

Business Development Manager Charlotte Lake commented, “It is great to see our machines in use for such a special event, and the Z45 was perfect for the task”.

As well as fixing the red poppy, the cherry picker was used to help them clear the gutters of the building. The Genie Z45 is suitable for tasks up to a working height of up to 15.94m as well as a 7.65m outreach for access up and over obstacles. Proportional controls also allowed it to be positioned precisely against the work area of the building.

The red poppy became the symbol of Remembrance Day as a symbol for the blood spilled in war. The poppy fields of Flanders saw some of the heaviest fighting in World War One.
