Our fleet gets a refresh

At Star we take pride in every aspect of the journey from your first enquiry, to delivering and servicing your equipment.

Earlier in the year we were delighted to update our fleet with two new service vans. Both vans come with Euro 6 engines and all the vans in our fleet are FORS Silver accredited, as well as meeting all the criteria for ISO 14001 and CLOCS.

Next up for a refresh were our trucks, and we added a brand-new DAF CF410 to our fleet. Our trucks are a massive asset to us and ensure we can deliver equipment to you safely and on time. All our drivers go through appropriate safety training, and our trucks are fitted with Telematics and camera recording equipment for safety. We also track fuel consumption and driving efficiency to ensure we are doing what we can to limit our impact on the environment.

Euro 6

A Euro 6 engine aims to reduce levels of harmful exhaust emissions by reducing nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons emissions. The Euro 6 engine also ensures our fleet will be compliant with the Ultra Low Emission Zone, when it comes into effect in April, and therefore we will not need to pass any charges onto our customers.

FORS Silver

FORS Silver is an essential accreditation that we demand for our entire fleet. The accreditation covers all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations.

ISO 14001

By complying with ISO 14001 we ensure we have an appropriate Environmental Management System in place and have developed a standard that has been implemented across the whole business, including all five of our local depots.

CLOCS

The CLOCS standard requires all stakeholders to take action to prevent fatal or serious collisions between vehicles servicing construction projects. Our trucks are all fitted with sensors and warning alarms, and our drivers are well trained to ensure they always drive safely on site.

You can find out more about our accreditations by reading our recent press release.
