Course Overview

This MEWP Spotter Training course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge and awareness required to safely support powered access operations on-site.

Spotters play a critical role in maintaining safe working conditions by monitoring surroundings, assisting operators, and helping to prevent accidents involving Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), including scissor lifts and boom lifts.

eLearning Theory

You will learn how to safely perform the role of a MEWP Spotter, as the course covers:

  • The responsibilties of a MEWP spotter
  • How and where to safely position yourself, including management of exclusion zones
  • Industry-recognised hand signals and voice instructions that are essential to safe operations in situations where an operator has restricted visibility
  • Safe MEWP operations
  • Key hazards and associated mitigation

 

Online Assessment

Once you have completed the eLearning theory, you will be presented with a short assessment to evaluate your understanding of the course.

Upon passing this assessment, candidates are awarded their qualification which is valid for five years. The qualification can be stored, accessed and shared via ePAL.
