Your Responsibilities:
- Frontline Transportation: Plan and coordinate transport routing to meet order requirements in line with company KPIs, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation
- Order Fulfilment: Liaise with drivers throughout the day to ensure timely delivery of customer orders
- Hire Fleet Management: Review the daybook daily to maximise the use of our hire fleet and exchange cross-hires with our own fleet when beneficial
- Problem-Solving: Use logistics principles to address challenges efficiently
- Engineering Coordination: Collaborate with engineering to update machine requirements for bookings
- Customer Interaction: Handle calls and emails professionally, providing excellent customer service
- Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues across departments to deliver effective customer solutions
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to Star Platforms’ quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and industry standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Planning Expertise: Demonstrated operational or logistics planning ability, preferrably within the hire industry (training provided)
- Communication Skills: A confident, professional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with internal and external contacts
- Problem Solver: Proactive and detail-oriented with a “can-do” attitude
- Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of transport planning and logistics as good UK geographical knowledge
- Tech & System Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic mathematics for tasks such as truckload calculations and customer quotations
- Organised Multi-Tasker: Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy office environment while maintaining high attention to detail
