Another welcome addition to the fleet is the Skyjack 8841RT Diesel scissor lift. The 8841 RT is another Skyjack big deck scissor with a big heart.

A large deck size is the number one requirement for these types of scissors. Either side of the already expansive platform is a 1.22m roll out extension which provides substantial expansion of the deck area as well as very useful ability to reach areas up and over obstacles – air conditioning or power units for example. Deck size is everything at this level – greater demands on construction projects have seen huge cladding or insulating pieces become standard.

As with majority of Skyjack scissors, the 8841 RT is driveable at full height, enabling workforce to make longer runs on applications such as cladding, making it much more productive for teams of operators.

A close second to the huge deck in features is the ability for these skyjack scissors on hire to tackle challenging conditions. A powerful 4 Wheel drive system is at the heart of this platform, fitted with what the manufacturer calls a Detroit Locker type rear differential and limited slip front differential. In practice this gives the operator plenty of control in tougher site conditions – no getting stuck with these skyjack scissors, particularly when they are fitted with terrain munching grip Lug tyres too providing positive traction across site.

Manufactured from robust steel – the 8841 RT has a growing reputation for strength and durability – particularly important on the construction sites across the UK. And last, but by no means least – as with all Skyjack scissors, the 8841 RT is packed with all useful safety equipment – flashing lights, audible motion alarms, tilt alarms, anti-slip surface on the platform deck areas and lift cut out.
