Star Platforms introduced the Manitou 160 ATJ into its boom hire fleet recently and this innovative 16.25m boom lift is already receiving great feedback by users.

Its up and over clearance of 7.38m and large, versatile working envelope is amongst the main features favoured by operators. This provides swift access to the work area and also means less time spent manoeuvring the platform into position. Intuitive simple proportional control and a quick rise time (just 40 seconds to achieve maximum work height) all help boost productivity too, whilst greater control has wider environmental benefits – reducing both fuel consumption and noise pollution.

The Manitou160ATJ is a true RT boom – equipped with diesel engine and full 4 wheel drive. It has 3 steering modes to allow for differing terrain – gradients up to 40% can be tackled with ease.

Platform capacity is ample for 2 operatives plus the usual tools, equipment and hire accessories, whilst a see-through base at the platform base provides the operator with useful visual of the area directly beneath the platform. The Manitou is also fitted with rotating beacon and audible travel and tilt alarms.

Typical applications include construction – steel erection, netting and cladding in the first stage of a build all the way into the second or later phases for painting, heating and air conditioning.

Other applications include cleaning, tree work, airport, railway and dock maintenance.
