Star Platforms continue to grow their hire fleet with £2 million investment in powered access platforms

UK powered access hire company Star Platforms continue to grow their hire fleet with a £2 million investment, adding over 350 platforms to their fleet in 2019.

Star Platforms, who opened their fifth depot in 2018, have continued to invest in powered access platforms to better serve their customers following the increase in demand for safer working at height options; taking their total fleet to over 1,730 machines.

The company have continued to invest in hybrid technology, with the purchase of seven Niftylift Height Rider articulating boom lifts with working heights ranging from 21m to 28m. They have also taken delivery of several Skyjack SJ46AJ 4×4 articulating boom lifts, as well as some SJ66T telescopic booms.

A large proportion of their investment saw them add over 70 Skyjack scissor lifts for hire to their fleet. This included the highly utilised 3219 electric scissor lift, which provides a working height of 7.8m and a width of 0.81m; making it a popular choice for several internal and external construction tasks and two rough terrain scissor lift models: the diesel 6826RT and the electric 6832RTE.

As demand for low level access platforms has increased, Star Platforms have continued to grow their offering with the addition of 50 products from Power Tower and a number of mast lifts from Dingli and Haulotte.
