Sales Director - Star Power (Generator Hire)

Star Power is one of the fastest-growing generator hire companies in the UK and is a sister company of Star Platforms.

Our Head Office is based in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. We work closely with our sister company, Star Platforms, and together we currently have eight depots spread across the UK, including Bristol, Northwest, Kent, Luton, Reading, Midlands, Anglia, and Southwest. We have big plans for the growth of Star Power in these locations.

We are looking to appoint a Sales Director who will lead and develop our sales operation to achieve our sales goals and objectives. The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and execute strategy plans to achieve/exceed sales targets.
  • Introducing a customer base to create a fully national Power business,
  • Manage and monitor all sales in Star Power.
  • Lead, motivate, inspire, and guide the sales team to achieve their best performance.
  • Establish strategies that aim to improve overall business success across the sales function.
  • Devising and implementing new business initiatives and sales strategies and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Overseeing the company’s sales growth by evaluating sales reports and capitalising on products and services.
  • Recruitment of sales professionals to assist and maintain the long-term growth of the business.
  • Securing large accounts with the sales team and negotiating contract agreements with customers.
  • Presenting sales figures to the board and updating on sales growth against company targets.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a senior sales management role, ideally within a generator hire or construction environment.
  • Connections to industry specialists in both Sales and Operations who can be introduced to Star Power.
  • A strong customer base to bring revenue into Star Power
  • Strong negotiating and sales skills.
  • Sales focused with a competitive nature.
  • Experience of managing a multi-site organisation
  • In-depth knowledge/understanding of sales practices and processes.
  • Outstanding leadership, managerial and motivational skills.
  • A proven background in senior sales management with an understanding of mechanical and electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • The ability to create and maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Good problem-solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative, and practical solutions.
