Business Development Manager - North West Region

We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team to assist us in the growth and development of sales across the Northwest. This is a crucial role within the company to manage both existing and prospective business across the region. You should have a strong sales background within the powered access Industry, ideally across the North West area

Star Platforms has depots across the UK and is one of the fastest-growing powered access hire companies in the UK. With seven depots across the country and growing, we are on an exciting journey to maximise our business in the North West region.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team to assist us in the growth and development of sales across the North West. This is a crucial role within the company to manage both existing and prospective businesses across the region. You should have a strong sales background within the powered access industry, ideally located in the North West region.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Developing and executing sales plans to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.
  • Growing business through the development of new leads and new contacts
  • Identifying and nurturing lapsed accounts to increase business opportunities.
  • Maintaining and updating sales, marketing, and business development documentation
  • Assisting with marketing and promotional projects
  • Collaborating with management on sales goals to excel in revenue targets set.
  • Support the team with other responsibilities as required.
  • Attending site surveys when required

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A proven track record of 3+ years’ experience working in a Field sales position within a plant hire environment, preferably powered access.
  • Experience working in a pressurised environment with a history of exceeding lead targets and KPIs.
  • A proven background in business development within the construction sector
  • Good problem-solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative, and practical solutions.
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships with operational teams to support the customer’s needs.
  • A structured approach to territory sales planning, customer management and managing the sales pipeline for future business.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences.
  • An overall good team player with a can-do approach to your work
