Assistant Manager - Sales/Hire Office, Luton

A new role has been created for an Assistant Manager – Sales/Hire Office to join one of the team to manage the sales office team and to support the Sales Office Manager in the achievement of Company Goals.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The effective line management of the sales desk team in the provision of outstanding customer service
  • Ensure the sales office team are maximising all sales/order opportunities to ensure the achievement of Company revenue targets and achievement of all additional sales opportunities
  • To be the first port of call for team questions and help with team member work problems discussing and resolving issues
  • To oversee the team for the quality of their work and compliance with process and procedure
  • Ensure all calls are handled professionally with an emphasis on winning orders at the point of initial enquiry through negotiation as required
  • Provide clear performance management linked to the achievement of targets and the identification of training and development needs
  • Set individual and team targets as required in line with Company goals and report on team performance and KPI achievement to the Board
  • Perform management duties in the absence of the line manager or as requested
  • Be an ambassador for Health and Safety compliance and standards

The ideal candidate/s will have

  • Experienced in Sales and line management with a proven 2-year sales record
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to manage, develop and motivate a sales team within a busy office environment – must be approachable at all times.
  • A strong multitasker with a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines and a varied workload
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the capability to use own initiative and to delegate as appropriate
  • Good IT skills
  • Strong inbound and outbound B2B sales experience
  • Experience within the Hire/Rental industry would be a distinct advantage but not essential
  • Ability to mentor and positively develop individuals
